Pantea Rahmani

Born on September 10, 1971 in Tehran.At the age of 20, I set out to study aesthetics , drawing , and painting seriously.I continued my studies in the Art University , in the Faculty of Plastic Arts , Tehran. From this period, I got very much interested in drawing and painting portraits.Giacometti and Modgiliani were my main sources of inspirtation at that time.During the same time, I also became interested in Mark Rothko's works and I was very taken with the subject of surface and space.Human figures surrounded by semi-empty spaces are the subjects of my latest works.
Educations: March 1992 : Starting to work September 1994 : Entering the Art University (Tehran), faculty of Plastic Arts-paintings March 1999 : Graduating from the University.
Exhibitions: October 2000 : Drawing exhibition at Barg Gallery, Tehran. September 2000 : Tehran's 5th Painting Biennal at the Museum of contemporary of Arts. January 2000 : Tehran's first Drawing Biennal at the Museum of contemporary Arts. October 1999 : Drawing exhibition at Barg Gallery, Tehran. March 1999 : Painting exhibition at Barg Gallery, Tehran. October 1998 : Painting exhibition at Honar Gallery, Tehran. Augest 1998 : Painting exhibition in support of Mr.Karbaschi ( The Reformist Mayor of Tehran and a main supporter of President Khatami ) November 1996 : Dessin, Drawing exhibition in Kyoto University of Arts & Design , Japan. January 1994 : Manifestation of feeling exhibition in Niyavaran Cultural Center, Tehran.
